This month's event "Earth Movers" has two speakers:
With over 25 years of fieldwork and research to draw on, Dr. Robert Blakemore will tell us why we need to know more about earthworms and how a massive extinction is occurring literally right under our feet.
Using pictures and storytelling, Dr. Rob will introduce us to soils and the creatures who actually make it, every day, all day. It isn't just the birds and the bees the flowers and the trees need, they also need earthworms. Whether you like them or not, you will enjoy learning about them and how they have literally created the means for agriculture and civilization to exist.
Michael Q Todd is a New Zealander living in Tokyo who brands himself as the Green Internet Guy in Tokyo. He is a recovering ex Lawyer & an amateur Juggler.
Day and night he leads a large team of social media marketers who promote events, products, services and causes by starting and stimulating conversations. Present sideprojects are organising various parties, TEDxOsaka, TweetMeetJapan and Tokyo350.
He thinks Kermit frog was wrong. Its fun being Green :).
Michael will lead discussion in a fun and interesting way about why the fact reduction 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is an essential goal. He will outline what is being done about it around the world on and offline and how you can participate.
If that isn't enough, we have a brand new location in Omotesando, KaMu. It is like Fujimamas in that it is owned by a member of the foreign community, but the interior isn't wood, its cool and modern. Their food is a fusion of cuisines and philosophies from the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean and will definitely not disappoint.
Best 3,000 yen event in Japan. RSVP today to keep a spot, space is limited.
